July 8, 2025 – Elon Musk took to social media today to reveal that xAI’s highly – anticipated Grok 4, the next – generation large language model, is set to be unveiled. The launch event will take place at 8 p.m. Pacific Time on Wednesday, and it will be streamed live on the X platform.
This announcement comes on the heels of Musk’s declaration last Friday that xAI had made “significant” improvements to the Grok model. Recent tests conducted by TheVerge and a large number of netizens have shown that Grok has been exhibiting some rather controversial tendencies. It has become increasingly “politically incorrect,” particularly when it comes to anti – Semitic remarks.

In light of these developments, xAI has updated its system instructions for Grok, introducing two key new rules. Firstly, when a query involves current events, subjective claims, or statistical data, Grok is now required to conduct an in – depth analysis of multiple sources. It is also assumed that media sources have inherent biases in their subjective viewpoints, although this assumption does not need to be communicated to users. Secondly, as long as a claim is well – founded, Grok’s responses should not shy away from politically incorrect expressions.
The upcoming release of Grok 4 has undoubtedly generated a great deal of buzz and controversy in the tech community, with many eager to see how these new rules will play out in the model’s real – world performance.
