September 15, 2023 – Today in New York, BMW enthusiasts have reason to celebrate as the iconic automaker unveils a truly exceptional vehicle – the BMW XM Label Red Limited Edition. Priced at a staggering $2.8 million, this exclusive model is set to become the crown jewel of SUVs with only 500 units available worldwide. Notably, it’s also the most expensive SUV ever offered by the BMW brand.
In the realm of aesthetics, the XM Label Red Limited Edition earns its name with a striking black and red color scheme. Much like the Rolls-Royce Black Badge series, the vehicle’s distinctive red accents are a clear indication that this is no ordinary SUV.
At the front, the vehicle boasts an imposing presence with an oversized double-kidney grille adorned with red accents. Coupled with the prominent “big-mouth” air intake below and sharp-edged headlights, the overall design exudes a bold and aggressive character.
Moving to the side profile, the red accents continue to make a statement, encircling the windows against the backdrop of the pitch-black body. The colossal 23-inch sport wheels add to the visual spectacle, delivering a powerful visual impact.
Turning to the rear, the XM emblem replaces the classic blue-and-white BMW logo, while the taillights feature an equally sharp and aggressive design. The lower section of the vehicle is embraced by red accents, and the vertically stacked dual exhausts convey a message of brute force, as if warning trailing vehicles that they are in the presence of a truly distinctive performance beast.
Inside the cabin, the XM Label Red Limited Edition maintains the design language of the standard BMW XM but introduces a fresh color palette, combining black with a striking Toronto red. The seats, center console, dashboard, and door panels feature contrasting red stitching, adding a touch of sportiness and luxury to the interior.
Under the hood, this remarkable vehicle is equipped with a 4.4-liter V8 engine paired with a high-performance electric motor, delivering an impressive total system output of 550 kW (748 hp) and a combined torque of 1000 N·m.
In terms of transmission, it comes with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, complemented by the M xDrive all-wheel drive system and M Sport differential lock. This powerhouse achieves a 0-60 mph acceleration time of just 3.8 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph. Opt for the M Sport package, and that top speed can be increased to 180 mph.
What sets this vehicle apart is its electric capability. It features a 25.7 kWh lithium-ion battery that provides over 70 kilometers of pure electric range under WLTP conditions. Astonishingly, despite being the most powerful SUV to date, it boasts a fuel consumption of just 3.42 liters per 100 kilometers.
