December 31, 2024 – Tesla’s Gigantic Texas factory, known as Giga Texas, is in the final stages of completing a unique project dubbed the “Cybertunnel”. Although the construction workers seem to have missed the deadline for a New Year’s completion, the project is increasingly resembling a Cybertruck in its appearance.
Earlier this month, Joe Tegtmeyer, a drone pilot, and a keen observer of Giga Texas, discovered that the exit of the “Cybertunnel”, which is being built by The Boring Company, was taking the shape of a Cybertruck. The tunnel, whose construction began in March this year, is now being enhanced with a layer of metal panels on its exterior, replicating the distinct stainless steel look of the Cybertruck. This suggests that Tesla is nearing the end of the tunnel’s construction, which will be used for transporting vehicles before delivery.
It’s worth noting that Tegtmeyer and other observers have also pointed out that Tesla has replicated the headlights of the Cybertruck in this structure, and it’s possible that the final version might include actual lighting elements. Some have also noticed signs on the left side of the tunnel indicating that it is designed for vehicular traffic, with pedestrians, scooters, and other non-motorized vehicles being prohibited.
Last month, Tesla began painting the interior of the “Cybertunnel”, indicating that the main construction work on the tunnel has been completed. The tunnel extends approximately 1000 feet under Highway 130, leading to the end-of-line facility on the west end of the factory. Elon Musk has previously stated that the tunnel will ultimately be used to transport Cybertrucks and other vehicles for turnover before delivery.
