Tesla’s FSD Feature Awaits European Regulatory Approval for Launch

March 1, 2025 – Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) Beta feature, already available in North America, has been quietly rolling out to HW 4.0 models in the Chinese market this week. However, the advanced driver assistance system has not yet made its way to Europe, despite industry speculation that it would arrive there before expanding to China.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has taken to social media to clarify the situation, explaining that the company is awaiting regulatory approval in Europe, which remains uncertain at this time. Musk noted that Tesla is actively engaged in discussions with European regulatory bodies on this matter.

According to data from EU-EVs, Tesla held a 15.8% market share in Europe in 2024, outpacing established automakers like Volkswagen, BMW, and Volvo. Meanwhile, several companies including Ford have already secured approval for autonomous driving in Europe. Ford’s Mustang Mach-E, for instance, was granted permission to operate in L2 autonomous mode in 2023.
