November 09, 2023 – Apple announced on its official website today, “In 2023, the exceptionally accomplished and record-breaking Taylor Swift is named the Apple Music Artist of the Year for 2023.”
Apple revealed that between January and October of this year alone, Taylor Swift had an astounding 65 songs make it to the Apple Music “Top 100: Global” chart, solidifying her position at the top of the global music scene.
Expressing her gratitude, Swift said, “I want to thank every fan who has made this year the most beautiful, joyful, and celebratory year of my life. From the constant streaming online to the harmonious sing-alongs at live shows and the exuberant dance parties in movie theaters, it’s all because of you, and I’m truly thankful to everyone.”
Oliver Schusser, Vice President of Apple Music and Beats, commented, “Taylor Swift is not only an artist who can represent an era but also a trailblazer in the music industry. There’s no doubt that her influence will endure in the years to come.”
Additionally, Apple shared some of Taylor Swift’s accomplishments on Apple Music:
1. Swift’s body of work saw consistently high streaming throughout the year, with Taylor Swift’s “Eras Tour” World Tour ranking as the most-streamed performance playlist of the year and making it into the top 40 of the most-streamed editorial playlists.
2. Hit singles like “Bad Blood,” “Blank Space,” “Style,” “Shake It Off,” “Wildest Dreams,” and “All Of The Girls You Loved Before” all made their debut on the Apple Music charts in 2023.
3. “Cruel Summer” made a triumphant return to the Apple Music “Top 100: Global” chart for the first time in four years and has remained there since.
4. “Midnights” continues to hold the record for the highest global streaming volume on its first day and first week, establishing itself as the top female artist album in Apple Music’s history.
5. Taylor Swift also makes history as the most-streamed female artist on Apple Music and holds the record for the most songs to enter the Apple Music “Top 100: Global” chart by a female artist.
