April 30, 2026 – A recent report from foreign tech media outlet Wccftech has set the DIY community abuzz with concerns. The headline – “Another Iconic Graphics Card Maker Exits the PC Market” – sent shockwaves, especially when it was revealed that the company in question was GALAX, previously known as GALAXY Microsystems to veteran gamers.
Upon reaching out to GALAX, Wccftech confirmed the company’s closure and the dismissal of its entire overseas operations team. In a statement addressed to GALAX users, it was announced that Palit (a well – known name in the industry) has taken full control of the GALAX brand and its operations.

“Dear GALAX Users,
We hereby inform you that Palit has fully taken over the GALAX brand and its operations. After this handover, Palit will be solely responsible for all activities and commitments related to the brand.
With the closure of the original organizational structure and the disbandment of the team, all management and operational tasks will be carried out exclusively through Palit’s official channels. Customers who have purchased GALAX graphics cards can still enjoy warranty/RMA services. For any support or service – related inquiries, please contact Palit directly.”
However, after thorough verification, it has been confirmed that this event reported by foreign media has no connection whatsoever with the domestic GALAX brand (known as Yingchi in China) and the Chinese mainland market.
It should be made clear that the business adjustment only involves the GALAX brand operating in overseas markets. The domestic Yingchi and overseas GALAX operate on two completely separate systems.
Palit Group, as the parent company, is the major shareholder of both domestic Yingchi and overseas GALAX. In the previous operational division, Palit was only in charge of the overseas market operations of its own brand, Palit. The overseas GALAX was managed by a Hong Kong – based team, while the domestic Yingchi was handled by a domestic team.
This adjustment is merely a brand integration and operational takeover of the overseas GALAX business line by the Palit Group. All aspects of the domestic Yingchi brand, including brand operation, product research and development, and sales services, remain completely unaffected. Domestic gamers and users can rest assured.
In the letter to users, Palit Group explained the reasons for the brand merger: “To enhance management and operational efficiency and address the issues of limited raw material supply caused by the AI era, Palit Group believes it is necessary to further integrate all resources to strengthen its capabilities and provide better services to customers.
We have decided to reorganize and integrate all our brands. Starting from April 1, 2026, the GALAX brand will be directly operated by the Palit Group.”
According to public information, GALAXY Microsystems Ltd. was established in Hong Kong, China, in 1994. The brand’s core concept is to pursue high – speed and extreme performance, with a focus on the research and development of computer hardware products such as graphics cards, motherboards, and solid – state drives.
In 1999, the brand became a core AIC partner of NVIDIA. In 2003, it officially entered the Chinese mainland market under the Chinese brand name “Yingchi”. In 2008, it was formally incorporated into the Palit Group. Since then, it has gradually expanded its product line and formed two completely separate operational systems for domestic and overseas markets.
The “Yingchi” brand for the Chinese mainland market is operated by a domestic team. Its core classic product series, such as the Hall of Fame, Xingyao, and Metal Master, maintain a complete product layout, stable new product iterations, and full – link after – sales services in the domestic market.
On the other hand, the overseas business operates under the GALAX brand, covering regions such as Asia – Pacific (excluding the Chinese mainland), South America, and North America. Its sister brand, KFA2, serves the EU market.
