Mark Zuckerberg and Sam Altman Stand United in Favor of AI Regulation

June 25, 2023 – In a recent development, industry leaders Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, and Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, have expressed their support for the proposed artificial intelligence (AI) technology regulatory framework put forth by Thierry Breton, the European Commissioner for the Internal Market.

During a conference, Zuckerberg and Breton reached a consensus on the need for government assessment of AI risks and the regulation of AI technology development.

Following this, Altman also voiced his support for the EU’s AI regulatory proposal, stating, “I appreciate the attention and foresight shown by EU institutions and look forward to collaborating with you, Mr. Breton, to help implement services that meet the local market demands in Europe.”

Furthermore, Breton held meetings with Huang Renxun, the CEO of NVIDIA, Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, and Linda Yaccarino, the newly appointed CEO of Twitter, to discuss and promote AI regulation together. The aim of these discussions is to explore avenues for advancing AI regulation in a collaborative manner.
