LG Unveils StanbyME 2: The Ultimate Portable TV with a Carry Strap

January 9, 2025 – At the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), LG Electronics unveiled its latest innovation, the StanbyME 2 portable TV. Following the success of its predecessor, the original StanbyME, and its suitcase-style follow-up product, the new model promises significant upgrades and enhanced features.

The most notable enhancement in the StanbyME 2 is the bump in screen resolution. The device now boasts a 27-inch 1440p touchscreen, offering a substantial improvement over the 1080p display of the original model. This upgrade promises sharper and more vivid visuals for an enriched viewing experience.

In terms of battery life, the StanbyME 2 offers a slight increase, with a duration of up to 4 hours, compared to the 3.5 hours of its predecessor. This extended battery life ensures longer uninterrupted viewing sessions, enhancing the device’s portability even further.

Portability is a key focus of the StanbyME 2, as emphasized by LG. Apart from the existing floor stand, which serves as both a support and a charging station, the new TV model comes with a detachable strap, allowing users to carry it like a backpack. Additionally, it can be hung on a wall like a picture frame, provided the wall hook is sturdy enough to support it.

To enhance portability even more, the StanbyME 2 is compatible with a folding protective case. This case not only shields the screen during transit but also doubles as a desktop stand when unfolded. The remote control conveniently attaches to the top of the TV via magnets, facilitating easy storage.

In terms of connectivity, the StanbyME 2 features two USB-C ports, enabling charging and the connection of external devices like webcams. It also retains a traditional HDMI input for added versatility.

Currently, LG has not disclosed detailed information regarding the pricing and release date of the StanbyME 2. However, considering the improvements and enhancements, it is expected to be a highly anticipated product in the market.
