November 11, 2024 – iPhone users might soon have a novel way to interact with Google’s AI assistant, Gemini. According to recent reports from 9to5Google, Google is currently testing a standalone “Google Gemini” app on the Apple App Store, promising an expanded array of AI capabilities beyond what’s currently available within the Google app.
Notably, this independent Google Gemini app includes the Gemini Live feature, which has been inaccessible to iOS users thus far. Gemini Live enables users to engage in conversations with the AI using voice commands – a functionality that Android users have enjoyed since September 2024.
With Google yet to officially announce the iOS version of the Google Gemini app, the exact launch date remains uncertain.
