September 19, 2023 – In an exciting development today, Google’s AI chatbot, Bard, has unveiled its latest update, introducing robust plugin support for various Google applications, including Gmail, Docs, Drive, and more. Google touts this as Bard’s most powerful version to date, promising enhanced collaboration efficiency across languages and nations.
The newly introduced plugins for Google applications empower Bard to access real-time information from apps like Maps, YouTube, Hotels, and Flights, all while allowing users the flexibility to enable or disable them at will. Users can simply click on the plugin icon in Bard’s interface’s upper right corner or enter “@”, followed by the plugin’s name in the prompt box to swiftly choose a plugin. For example, typing “@Maps” prompts Bard to display map information, or “@YouTube” instructs Bard to play a video.
Notably, aside from the plugin support, Google Bard has incorporated a “Public Link Sharing” feature, permitting users to share their conversations with Bard with anyone who can continue the conversation on their own devices. Additionally, Bard can now “audit” its own responses. At the bottom of each answer lies a “G” button, symbolizing Google, which users can click to have Bard cross-verify its responses on Google for accuracy.
Google Bard is currently available for public preview, granting users the opportunity to experience these features free of charge.
