June 25, 2024 – According to recent rumors from CanonRumors, Canon is gearing up to unveil two significant products, the EOS R1 and EOS R5 Mark II, around the 29th week of this year, which falls around July 15th. The EOS R5 Mark II is reported to hit the shelves in August, while the release date for the EOS R1 remains uncertain.
Additionally, there are whispers that Canon will also announce multiple new lenses this month, although the specifics remain a mystery. It’s possible that the company may just be announcing their development at this stage.
Previous leaks have hinted at some exciting features for the upcoming EOS R1 camera. It is rumored to sport a 24MP sensor and carry a price tag of $6499 (approximately 47218 yuan). The camera is expected to support QPAF (Quad Pixel Auto Focus) technology, along with the second-generation Eye Control AF.
In terms of design, the EOS R1 is rumored to have a more ergonomic body that will be larger than Canon’s previous EOS R3 model. It will likely feature a bigger OLED back screen than its predecessors and include a color shoulder screen. The Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) is rumored to have the highest resolution Canon has offered so far, possibly with an “ultra-high refresh rate.”
For storage and connectivity, the EOS R1 is expected to come equipped with dual CFexpress Type B card slots and a full-size HDMI port. Moreover, it’s exciting to note that the video capabilities and firmware of this camera will be developed by the Cinema EOS team, promising professional-level video performance.
