Apple’s Smart Glasses and Camera-Equipped AirPods Rumored for 2027 Release

October 14, 2024 – According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, Apple is currently developing a range of vision-based products, including smart glasses similar to the collaboration between Meta and Ray-Ban, as well as AirPods equipped with cameras. However, these products are not expected to be released earlier than 2027, and there is even a possibility that they may not be launched at all.

The report indicates that Apple aims to recoup some of the billions of dollars invested in visual intelligence research and development for the Apple Vision Pro by integrating this technology into more of its product lineup. Having already introduced the technology in the iPhone 16, Apple’s next step is to incorporate it into eyewear.

It’s important to note that these glasses won’t be fully-fledged AR glasses with a display. Instead, they will be smart glasses featuring a built-in camera, speakers, and a microphone, resembling Meta’s Ray Ban glasses.

Furthermore, Apple is still planning to release AirPods with a camera, as previously reported. The company continues to explore innovative ways to enhance its product offerings and expand its range of wearable devices.
