Apple’s iPhone 16 Lineup Expected in Vibrant New Colors This Spring

February 11, 2025 – According to a report published by tech media outlet MacRumors on February 10th, Apple is rumored to introduce a brand new color option for its iPhone 16 series, likely to arrive in March or April 2025. This move is expected to rejuvenate the product life cycle and generate renewed interest in the upcoming iPhone models.

Historically, Apple has introduced new colors to its iPhone lineup as a way to boost sales and keep the product line fresh. A brief recap of past iPhone color introductions includes:

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus received the (PRODUCT) RED color on March 21, 2017.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus followed suit with (PRODUCT) RED on April 9, 2018.

In 2021, the iPhone 12 and 12 mini gained a purple hue on April 20.

The following year, on March 8, 2022, Apple unveiled a green option for the iPhone 13 and 13 mini, along with an Alpine Green variant for the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max.

Most recently, on March 7, 2023, the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus were offered in a new yellow color.

Interestingly, Apple did not introduce any new colors for the iPhone 15 series in 2024, similar to what happened with the iPhone XR in 2019, iPhone 11 in 2020, and again with the iPhone 15. Despite this pattern, MacRumors speculates that there is still a high possibility for Apple to introduce fresh hues for the iPhone 16 lineup in 2025, given the company’s history of frequently updating its color palette.

It’s worth noting that Apple has only introduced a new color for its “Pro” models once, with the Alpine Green option for the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. While it’s theoretically possible that Apple could add new colors to the Pro line in the future, it’s not considered likely in the near term.
