Apple to Unveil iPad mini 7 and M4 Mac at October Event: Gurman

September 07, 2024 – According to a report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman via his X account, Apple is still developing new iPad models, including an upgraded iPad mini. These products are expected to make their debut at Apple’s October event, alongside the new M4 Mac.

It has been nearly three years since the sixth-generation iPad mini was launched in September 2021, and Apple has been working on the seventh-generation model. Rumors have circulated that the new iPad mini could be released this year, potentially featuring an A17 Pro or even a more advanced chip to support Apple Intelligence. Additionally, it is speculated to come with upgraded front and rear cameras.

In a previous report on August 27th, Gurman noted that the sixth-generation iPad mini had begun to be out of stock in many retail stores, possibly indicating the imminent release of the new iPad mini. Internally, Apple has characterized the iPad mini’s supply as “limited,” which could be a signal of a new product launch.

Meanwhile, previous reports from foreign media stated that Apple plans to introduce the first M4 Mac in November. This timeline is similar to last year when Apple announced the MacBook Pro with the M3 chip at the same time. Notably, the new Mac mini equipped with the M4 Pro chip is rumored to feature a total of five USB-C ports, with three located on the back and two on the front, reminiscent of the Mac Studio design. Ethernet, HDMI, and 3.5mm audio ports will remain.
