Tesla’s Sales Soar in Germany’s Electric Car Market

May 05, 2023 – Germany’s electric car market is seeing a significant surge in sales, with Tesla leading the way. According to data from the German Federal Motor Transport Authority, Tesla’s sales in the country have increased by 272.3% in April compared to the same period last year.

In the first four months of this year, Tesla’s sales have doubled compared to the same period last year, with an increase of 109.2%. Despite the substantial growth, Tesla still has a lot of room for improvement, with only 1.2% of the market share and 2,420 units sold in April.

However, industry analysts predict that Tesla’s sales will continue to rebound in May and June, following a trend of a decline in sales from March to April. The electric car manufacturer is expected to have a stronger performance in the remaining two months of the second quarter.

The German Federal Motor Transport Authority also revealed that the country’s automotive industry saw a 12.6% increase in sales in April, with electric cars sales surging by 34.1% YoY, reaching 29,740 units and accounting for 14.7% of the total cars sold that month.
