July 09, 2024 – Stellantis Unveils Ambitious Hybrid Expansion Strategy for European Markets, Aiming for a Greener Tomorrow
In a move designed to cater to the escalating demand for sustainable mobility in Europe, Stellantis has announced a sweeping expansion of its hybrid technology across multiple brands, pledging to introduce an impressive 30 hybrid models across the continent this year, with an additional six models slated for release by 2026. This strategic shift underscores the company’s commitment to advancing the adoption of hybrid powertrains, aligning with the continent’s push towards a more environmentally conscious automotive landscape.
According to Stellantis, the hybrid vehicle sales across the European Union’s 30 member states have witnessed a remarkable 41% surge since the beginning of 2024, compared to the previous year. This positive trend is expected to gather further momentum with the imminent arrival of the new hybrid lineup, fueling an uptick in customer acquisition rates.
Speaking on the occasion, Uwe Hochgeschurtz, Chief Operating Officer of Stellantis Europe, emphasized, “In this era where sustainability converges with innovation, Stellantis stands at the forefront, steadfast in our commitment to propel hybrid technology for European consumers. This technology not only enhances the efficiency and performance of conventional internal combustion engines but also paves the way for a future characterized by reduced emissions, extended driving ranges, and overall affordability.”
