April 12, 2024 – Recently, a foreign netizen posted on Reddit about a surprise pop-up they encountered after updating their Windows 10 computer with the latest patches. The full-screen reminder read, “Embark on a new journey with Windows.”
In the pop-up message, Microsoft first expressed gratitude to the user for their “loyalty” and then proceeded to inform them that support for Windows 10 will end on October 14, 2025.
Interestingly, at the end of the message, Microsoft stated, “Your PC is not eligible for an upgrade to Windows 11, but it will continue to receive Windows 10 patches and security updates.”
This unexpected message from Microsoft has left many netizens amused and perplexed.
Microsoft has previously confirmed multiple times that all versions of Windows 10 22H2, including Home, Pro, Enterprise, Education, Pro Education, Workstation Pro, and IoT Enterprise, will reach end of support on October 14, 2025.
Remarkably, this isn’t the first time Microsoft has used such tactics to notify users about the impending end of support for an operating system. Back in 2019, the company employed similar methods to inform users that support for Windows 7 was coming to an end, strongly encouraging them to upgrade to Windows 10.
