Google to Enhance Pixel 8 with Gemini Nano Model in Forthcoming Feature Drop

March 29, 2024 – According to recent news, Google has announced plans to introduce the Gemini Nano model to its Pixel 8 smartphone in the upcoming Pixel Feature Drop. This announcement comes after the tech giant previously incorporated the Gemini large language model into the Pixel 8 Pro during last December’s Feature Drop.

Google states that the integration of Gemini Nano into the Pixel 8 will initially bring two new AI-powered features to the device. The first addition is the Summarize function within the Recorder app, which allows users to summarize conversations, interviews, presentations, and other audio recordings without requiring an internet connection.

The second AI feature is the introduction of Magic Compose in the Messages app. This functionality generates stylized suggested responses based on the context of the user’s messages. Besides creating new messages and replies, users can also request rewrites of content in different styles.

It’s worth noting that Google’s Pixel Feature Drops are released quarterly, and the company has just announced an update in March. This means Pixel 8 users will have to wait for a while before they can access these new features.
