Apple’s iPhone SE 4: A Glimpse into the Future of Compact Smartphones with Expected 2025 Launch

March 04, 2024 – Recently, 91mobiles uncovered the CAD renderings of the upcoming Apple iPhone SE 4, hinting at a possible release in 2025. This revelation has sparked excitement among tech enthusiasts, who eagerly await the arrival of the new device.

For the first time in the SE series, the iPhone SE 4 is expected to feature a notch display, marking a significant departure from the traditional design and signaling Apple’s complete transition to the era of fullscreen smartphones. This change is not only visually appealing but also enhances the usability of the SE model, bringing it up to speed with modern trends.

Another notable addition to the iPhone SE 4 is the integration of Face ID for facial recognition unlocking. This means that the iPhone SE 3, released in 2022, will hold the distinction of being the last Apple smartphone to feature a front-facing fingerprint Home button.

In terms of display technology, the iPhone SE 4 is rumored to sport an OLED screen, a first for the SE lineup. The screen size is expected to match the 6.1-inch standard version found on the iPhone 13 and 14 series, promising a significant improvement in visual quality. However, it seems that the high refresh rate technology found on the iPhone 15 will not be present on the SE model, which will support only 60Hz.

As for the camera setup, the iPhone SE 4 is not expected to adopt the advanced configuration of the iPhone 15. Instead, it will likely retain a single-camera system, designed primarily for everyday photography and scanning needs.

Interestingly, previous rumors have suggested that Apple might debut its proprietary 5G baseband chip in the iPhone SE 4. If true, this could serve as a testbed for the technology before its eventual rollout in flagship products. The integration of a custom 5G baseband would not only enhance connectivity speeds but also solidify Apple’s position as a leader in mobile technology innovation.
