Microsoft Extends Non-Security Update Deadline for Windows 11 22H2

March 01, 2024 – In a recent update labeled KB5034765, Microsoft announced that it has extended the deadline for non-security updates to its Windows 11 22H2 version, based on feedback from its user community.

According to the tech giant, the new end date for non-security updates to Windows 11 22H2 Enterprise, Education, IoT Enterprise, and Enterprise Multi-Session editions is now set as June 24, 2025. Additionally, the cutoff time for receiving non-security updates has been pushed back to June 26, 2024, for the Home, Pro, Pro Education, and Pro for Workstations editions of Windows 11 22H2.

Initially, Microsoft had planned to conclude the rollout of non-security updates for Windows 11 22H2 on February 27, 2024. However, with the revised dates, users can continue to receive non-security updates, introducing new features and functionalities, until the new deadlines. After these dates, Microsoft will solely provide security updates.

In related news, Microsoft recently stated that devices still running on Windows 11 21H2 and 22H2 but meeting the upgrade criteria will automatically receive the latest 23H2 update. Later this year, the company is also slated to release a significant version update, labeled as 24H2.
