September 23, 2024 – Huawei, in partnership with UAE-based operator du, has recently accomplished a notable feat in the Middle East region. Utilizing the LampSite X digital solution, they have successfully deployed the area’s first indoor network based on Three-Component Carrier (3CC) technology.
This network stands out with a peak speed of 5.1 Gb/s, marking a significant milestone in du’s journey to build a 5G-A network. It’s worth noting that du and Huawei had previously collaborated in 2021 to introduce the Middle East’s first indoor ubiquitous gigabit network. Their latest effort is aimed at enhancing mobile connectivity quality in indoor settings such as shopping malls, hotels, airports, and residential buildings.
Saleem AlBlooshi, the Chief Technology Officer at du, expressed his enthusiasm about this achievement. He stated, “Introducing 5G three-carrier aggregation technology into our Indoor Base Station (IBS) network is a crucial step to ensure a leading 5G user experience. It has strengthened our network capabilities and quality, resulting in a significant boost in customer satisfaction.”
