In a strategic move, Airbnb announced on Tuesday the acquisition of GamePlanner.AI, a burgeoning artificial intelligence startup consisting of a team of 12 professionals. The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed as Airbnb has chosen to keep the intricacies of the deal confidential.
According to insiders cited by CNBC, the deal is estimated to be just below the $200 million mark (approximately ¥1.458 billion RMB at current exchange rates). Notably, GamePlanner.AI was founded by Adam Cheyer, a key figure in the inception of Apple’s voice assistant, Siri.
This acquisition positions GamePlanner.AI to augment Airbnb’s existing array of artificial intelligence technologies, encompassing large language models, computer vision models, and machine learning, among other facets.
