Samsung’s Ballie Takes Center Stage: Unveiling the AI Robot This Week

April 9, 2025 – Samsung took to its official Instagram page yesterday to drop a teaser about Ballie, its AI – powered companion robot. The company hinted at unveiling more details, possibly including release specifics, at an upcoming event this week.

Ballie is no ordinary robot. It’s a highly integrated AI companion that works seamlessly with Samsung’s SmartThings platform. Equipped with a camera and a mini – projector, this robot is designed to follow users around their homes. Its capabilities are vast. It can offer weather updates, play movies, display Samsung Health data, manage shopping lists, and even control smart home devices.

While pricing and an exact launch date remain under wraps, Samsung has confirmed that Ballie will hit the US market in the first half of 2025. Whether it will be available in other markets simultaneously is still up in the air.

Back in January, during CES 2025, Samsung gave media a firsthand look at Ballie. The robot glided effortlessly on a pre – set wooden surface, showcasing its impressive mobility. Its front – facing projector has been upgraded to a full – HD three – laser projector, offering projection quality comparable to Samsung’s The Premiere 5 laser projector.

What sets Ballie apart is its world – first switchable – lens projector. This feature allows it to project both up – close and at a distance. Whether it’s displaying control options on the floor or projecting navigation information or movies onto a wall, Ballie can adapt to different projection needs.
