April 30, 2026 – Samsung Electronics has just released its official financial report for the first quarter of 2026 and provided an overview of the development of its various business segments. In the memory business, the company has announced plans to sample HBM4E memory in the second quarter of 2026.
During a conference call, a representative from Samsung Electronics’ Device Solutions (DS) division’s memory business stated that in the first quarter, the average selling price (ASP) of DRAM increased by over 90%, and the ASP of NAND also saw a nearly 90% rise. In the foundry business, Samsung secured orders from a large-scale optical communication component company in the first quarter, laying a solid foundation for its silicon photonics (SiPh) business. In the second half of the year, the company will initiate the capacity ramp-up of its second-generation 2nm mobile products and accelerate the expansion of production capacity for 4nm memory products and 4nm LPU. Regarding its Taylor project in the United States, the first fab is set to ramp up production capacity this year and start mass production in 2027, while the plan for the second fab is currently under review.
Additionally, Samsung Display aims to drive revenue growth in the second half of the year through flagship products with differentiated technologies and the mass production of 8.6-generation IT OLED.
