Tata Motors Unveils €3.8 Billion Acquisition of Iveco, Excluding Defense Division

July 31, 2025 – On July 30, Tata Motors of India made a significant announcement, revealing that it had struck a deal with Iveco to form a new commercial vehicle group. This newly – formed entity is projected to have an annual sales volume exceeding approximately 540,000 units.

Tata Motors’ acquisition offer for Iveco is valued at around 3.8 billion euros in total consideration. However, this figure does not include Iveco’s defense business and the net proceeds from its divestment.

It is anticipated that the transaction between Tata Motors and Iveco will be finalized in the first half of 2026. Meanwhile, the sale of Iveco’s defense business is expected to wrap up in the first quarter of next year, with the final completion date set no later than March 31, 2026.

Iveco, an Italian automotive brand, was established by the Fiat Group in 1946 and is headquartered in Turin, Italy. As a well – known commercial vehicle manufacturer, Iveco boasts an extremely diverse product range. Its offerings span from light, medium, and heavy – duty trucks to buses and coaches, as well as specialized vehicles such as ambulances and fire trucks.
