November 22, 2023 – In a recent installment of the “Dua Lipa: At Your Service” blog, Apple’s 63-year-old CEO, Tim Cook, shared insights into his future with the tech giant, emphasizing a detailed succession plan despite having no immediate plans to depart.
When questioned about his presence at Apple in the year 2050 and his curiosity about the company’s environmental initiatives, Cook candidly admitted uncertainty about the duration of his stay but expressed profound affection for Apple, stating, “I love it here (Apple).”
Reflecting on his 25 years at Apple, Cook remarked, “Looking back on my quarter-century with Apple, I can’t imagine life without it, so I’ll be here for a while longer.”
In contrast to Apple’s historically secretive approach to the succession of its founder, Steve Jobs, the issue of Cook’s successor is also shrouded in mystery. Apple has yet to publicly address the matter.
When asked about Apple’s CEO succession plans, Cook revealed ongoing efforts to formulate multiple detailed transition scenarios. He stated, “We have very comprehensive succession plans because unforeseen events can always occur. Tomorrow, I might take the wrong turn, but of course, I hope that doesn’t happen.”
Pressed further on the identity of his potential successor, Cook remained tight-lipped, merely stating, “I can’t say, but what I can say is that I genuinely hope the next CEO comes from within Apple.”
He added, “My task is to identify several capable potential candidates, enabling the board to make a well-informed choice.”
