November 02, 2024 – According to a blog post published by technology media outlet sammobile on November 1st, Samsung has recently been granted a patent that could potentially be utilized in future controllers for XR headsets.
The patent application included images showcasing not only the controllers but also a charging dock design. The two controllers can be connected to the dock, forming a compact unit.
As per the patent description, these controllers are specifically designed for “virtual reality devices” and may enhance the user’s immersive experience.
In Samsung’s third-quarter earnings presentation, which was available in English on the company’s investor relations website, there was a mention of an upcoming XR headset. It is highly likely that the design featured in this patent could be implemented in the new XR headset.
