Luo Yonghao Blasts Siemens iQ100 Fridge Again: Poor Design, Massive Failures!

April 27, 2026 – Luo Yonghao has once again taken to social media to criticize Siemens, this time targeting the company’s iQ100 refrigerator model. He claims it is a poorly designed, low-quality product plagued by widespread manufacturing defects, which Siemens has consistently ignored and refused to acknowledge.

According to Luo, numerous users have reported common issues with the iQ100, including failure to cool, frequent alarms, butyl rubber leaks, refrigerant leaks, and breakdowns shortly after the warranty expires. These problems, he asserts, are not isolated incidents but indicative of a systemic flaw affecting many units.

Luo noted that after his previous warnings, some affected users finally received resolutions to their complaints. However, he also criticized the hypocrisy of some netizens who initially criticized him for his aggressive (rights protection) actions—such as his infamous 2011 refrigerator-smashing protest—but later thanked him once their own issues were resolved.

On social media and in the comments section of Luo’s posts, a large number of users have joined the chorus of complaints, highlighting that the iQ100 refrigerators often fail within 3–5 years of use. Many also reported difficulties in obtaining after-sales support, with some users describing prolonged negotiations before finally receiving replacements.

This latest controversy has reignited public scrutiny over Siemens’ quality control and after-sales service, while also bringing renewed attention to Luo’s 2011 protest. On November 20, 2011, Luo famously smashed three Siemens refrigerators in front of the company’s headquarters, using a hammer. The refrigerators belonged to musician Zuo Xiaozuzhou, writer Feng Tang, and Luo himself, all of which suffered from the same issue: difficulty in closing the refrigerator doors.

In response to the 2011 incident, Siemens issued a statement saying it understood and respected consumers’ efforts to protect their rights but emphasized that such actions should be carried out within reasonable and legal boundaries. The company stressed the importance of rational communication to effectively resolve issues while safeguarding consumer interests.
