July 16, 2024 – LG Energy Solution, a leading Korean battery supplier, has announced the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technology into its battery design process. This innovation enables the company to swiftly craft customized battery cells according to client specifications within a single day.
The AI battery design system developed by LG Energy Solution leverages three decades of data, having been trained on 100,000 design cases. A representative from LG Energy Solution emphasized that this AI system guarantees consistently high-quality battery design proposals for clients, stating, “The key benefit of this technology is its ability to produce battery designs at a uniform level and speed, independent of the designer’s proficiency.”
Traditionally, battery design has been a time-consuming task heavily reliant on the expertise of designers. Often, multiple iterations were necessary to align the battery cell design with customer requirements. However, LG Energy Solution’s AI-driven approach significantly streamlines this process.
