July 6, 2026 – Geely Holding Group has officially sealed a strategic partnership framework agreement with Zhuhai Gree Electric Appliances, marking a major cross-industry collaboration between China’s leading automotive and home appliance manufacturing giants.
The landmark signing took place on July 3, following an official visit by Gree’s chairperson Dong Mingzhu and her senior management team to Geely’s Global Omni-Domain Safety Center. Li Shufu, chairman of Geely Holding Group, personally hosted and accompanied Dong’s delegation throughout the onsite exchanges and negotiations.
Tailored for the ongoing electrification, intelligent upgrading and digital transformation of the global automotive industry, the new cooperation aims to integrate Geely’s profound expertise in smart electric mobility with Gree’s core strengths in HVAC technology and high-end intelligent manufacturing. The two enterprises will launch in-depth joint initiatives covering multiple key sectors, including collaborative R&D of vehicle-mounted smart hardware, intelligent manufacturing industrial chain optimization, logistics and warehouse management, industrial internet construction, user ecosystem co-building, smart transportation development and household appliance business integration.
During the visit, Dong Mingzhu’s team toured the core functional laboratories of Geely’s Global Omni-Domain Safety Center. The inspection covered key facilities such as the dummy testing lab, sliding test bench lab, assisted driving environment simulation lab and full-vehicle crash test lab, where the delegation witnessed real-time vehicle safety crash tests on-site.
Launched and fully open to the entire industry in December 2025, Geely’s Global Omni-Domain Safety Center stands out as the world’s largest and most comprehensive safety testing facility in terms of scale and verification capabilities. It supports full-scenario technical validation for active and passive vehicle safety, new energy vehicle safety, in-car health safety and digital safety, laying a solid technical foundation for the iterative upgrading of automotive safety standards.
Following the agreement signing ceremony, Li Shufu and Dong Mingzhu jointly presented awards to outstanding employees across Geely’s business segments for their exceptional performances in 2025. The elite staff also received innovative technological products developed by Gree Electric as commemorative gifts.
The official strategic deal represents a substantial milestone in the frequent exchanges between Geely and Gree over the past six months, translating previous in-depth communications into tangible industrial cooperation. The two top domestic manufacturers have maintained close interactions since early 2026. In March, Dong Mingzhu became the owner of a Zeekr 009 Glory edition vehicle, with Li Shufu personally delivering the car to her. In May, Li Shufu paid a return visit to Gree’s headquarters and invited Dong Mingzhu to serve as an official Zeekr Quality Experience Officer, tasked with evaluating and supervising the product quality of Zeekr’s new models.
