August 19, 2024 – Last weekend, a Tesla Cybertruck was spotted in Texas towing a trailer carrying a statue of Elon Musk. The specific purpose of the statue remains unclear at this time.
On Sunday, X user S.E. Robinson Jr. shared a video recorded by Sandra Helena Garcia in Brownsville, Texas. The video featured the Cybertruck, wrapped in a matte black finish, and the statue of Musk. The sighting occurred near SpaceX’s Starbase facility in Texas.
While the intended destination and function of the statue are unknown, it’s possible that it could be related to Musk’s previous donation of $30 million to schools in Brownsville and Cameron County in 2021.
Meanwhile, SpaceX is in the process of constructing a $100 million industrial plant at its Starbase location. The plant, located on 52190 St. Martin Avenue in Brownsville, is set to include a five-story office building and a special-purpose industrial facility spanning approximately 1 million square feet.
Additionally, SpaceX has announced plans to invest approximately $15 million in the development of a shopping center in Brownsville. Initially, the center will feature a grocery store, a cafe, and several retail outlets. The second phase of the project includes the addition of an outdoor terrace overlooking the Rio Grande and a 3,500-square-foot indoor restaurant. The entire project was originally scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
Earlier this month, a CNBC report alleged that SpaceX’s Starbase operations had polluted surrounding waters in Texas. However, SpaceX responded on the X platform, dismissing the report as “factually inaccurate.”
