December 11, 2023 – Apple is gearing up for an exciting launch of its inaugural Vision Pro headset, and insiders like Mark Gurman have revealed some intriguing details. Prior to its official release, Apple has plans to host another grand unveiling event.
Simultaneously, Apple is diligently preparing its staff for the launch. The company has outlined a comprehensive two-day training program for Vision Pro, with selected employees from all Apple retail stores across the United States set to undergo training in California.
Scheduled to commence in January of the upcoming year, the training will equip sales associates with the knowledge and skills needed to assist customers in using the Vision Pro headset effectively. Apple retail outlets will also introduce dedicated Vision Pro experience zones, allowing customers to immerse themselves in the world of this cutting-edge wearable device.
In terms of industrial design, the Vision Pro closely resembles its competitors, featuring a combination of a glass front panel and an aluminum frame. This Mixed Reality (MR) device boasts impressive visuals, thanks to its utilization of micro OLED technology. With a total of 23 million pixels across its dual displays, it surpasses 4K resolution per eye, delivering an expansive color gamut and high dynamic range for an immersive visual experience.
Under the hood, the Vision Pro employs a dual-chip configuration consisting of the M2 and R1 chips. This design achieves remarkably low latency display rendering within just 12 milliseconds, ensuring seamless and fluid visuals. What sets the Vision Pro apart from conventional devices is the absence of a physical controller. Instead, users will interact with the headset through gestures, voice commands, and eye-tracking technology. Simple gestures, like tapping, pinching, and waving, will enable users to zoom, scroll, and adjust windows effortlessly.
The Vision Pro is set to retail at $3,499 in the United States, approximately equivalent to over 25,000 Chinese Yuan, marking a significant investment in cutting-edge mixed reality technology.
