Apple Rumored to Unveil New iPad Pro, iPad Air, and MacBook Air by March End

January 29, 2024 – According to recent reports from renowned Apple insider Mark Gurman, Apple is gearing up to unveil a slew of new products, including the iPad Pro, iPad Air, and MacBook Air, by the end of March. The Asian supply chain for these highly anticipated devices has already commenced production, with everything progressing smoothly thus far.

In a notable departure from previous releases, both the iPad Air and iPad Pro are rumored to be available in two distinct sizes, totaling four distinct models. Specifically, the iPad Air is said to come in 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch variants, while the iPad Pro will be offered in 11-inch and 13-inch configurations.

One of the most significant upgrades for the iPad lineup is the incorporation of OLED technology in the iPad Pro models. This marks the first time that Apple has equipped an iPad with an OLED display, which offers several advantages over the mini LED technology used in previous models. Unlike mini LED, OLED displays do not require backlighting and feature self-illuminating pixels, resulting in deeper blacks and improved contrast ratios. Additionally, the OLED screens in the iPad Pro are expected to support ProMotion technology, delivering smoother animations and faster response times.

While the mini LED displays in the current iPad Pro models also support ProMotion and can adjust their refresh rates between 24Hz and 120Hz, OLED technology takes this a step further. OLED screens are capable of achieving refresh rates below 10Hz, which can lead to significant power savings.

Under the hood, the iPad Air is expected to be powered by Apple’s M2 chip, while the iPad Pro will receive an upgrade to the more powerful M3 processor. These chips are designed to deliver exceptional performance and efficiency, ensuring that the new iPad models are capable of handling even the most demanding tasks with ease.
