September 02, 2024 – According to the latest report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple is currently testing a new low-end Magic Keyboard specifically designed for the basic iPad and the new iPad Air.
Unlike the Magic Keyboard introduced for the iPad Pro series in May, this more affordable version will not feature an aluminum exterior. Instead, it is likely to utilize a less expensive silicone material, similar to that of the older iPad Magic Keyboard. If all goes as planned, Gurman anticipates the launch of this keyboard around mid-2025.
In comparison, the 2024 Apple iPad Pro Magic Keyboard, released in May of this year, boasts an additional row of 14 function keys, supports a smaller opening angle, and is crafted with an aluminum palm rest. Its touchpad offers tactile feedback, providing an experience that Apple describes as “just like using a MacBook.” Pricing for this premium accessory starts at 2399 yuan.
