September 06, 2023 – Exciting reports from the tech world suggest that next year’s autumn will bring us the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max, both equipped with periscope-style telephoto lenses. The iPhone 16 Pro, in particular, is set to undergo a significant transformation, featuring a larger 6.3-inch display, marking it as the largest Pro model ever produced in Apple’s history.
Periscope telephoto lenses are renowned for their ability to capture distant objects. The longer the focal length, the farther the reach of your photography. However, one noticeable characteristic of such lenses is their substantial length. This elongation is due to the optical design necessity of positioning the optical center as far away from the image sensor as possible to minimize refraction angles. The result is a narrower and more distant field of view as the focal length increases. Consequently, accommodating longer focal lengths necessitates more internal space within the lens. Hence, the iPhone 16 Pro will expand its screen size to provide ample room for the inclusion of the periscope telephoto lens.
