Tesla Cybertruck Unveils Its First Driving Assistance Feature: Tesla Vision Park Assist

August 26, 2024 – Tesla has officially released the first driving assistance feature for its Cybertruck model. According to reports from Cybertruck owners on social media, their electric pickup trucks have gained the Tesla Vision Park Assist function after updating to version 2024.26.11.

Earlier last week, Ashok Elluswamy, the director of Autopilot software at Tesla, hinted on the social media platform X that the first driving assistance feature for the Cybertruck would be rolled out by the end of the week. The Tesla executive explained that they decided to “start with the parking assistance feature” since parking the Cybertruck can be challenging. He also revealed plans to introduce FSD for the Cybertruck in September.

Tesla delivered on its promise and released the Vision Park Assist feature for the Cybertruck last weekend, receiving widespread praise. Many have expressed that this feature should have been included in the model much earlier.

The Vision Park Assist function provides a high-precision 3D model of the surrounding environment, showing the distance and shape of nearby objects, obstacles, vehicles, and road markings. Users can utilize the Park Assist with or without sound feedback. However, Tesla emphasizes that the Park Assist is solely for guidance and should not replace the driver’s judgment. Drivers must remain vigilant and prevent collisions with obstacles.

It’s important to clarify that Vision Park Assist differs from Vision Autopark. The former only aids the driver’s visibility when parking the Cybertruck, offering a better view of the surroundings, but it does not support automatic parking.
