March 18, 2025 – Tesla Executives Unveil Detailed Information About Cybercab Autonomous Taxi
In a recent discussion with automotive engineering expert Sandy Munro, Tesla’s Vice President of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy, and Senior Vice President of Design, Franz von Holzhausen, shared insights into the company’s upcoming autonomous taxi service, highlighting the Cybercab as its primary model for the taxi business.

According to the executives, the Tesla Cybercab will be equipped with a battery pack smaller than 50kWh, sufficient to deliver a real-world driving range of 300 miles (approximately 482.8 kilometers). Impressively, it will achieve “the highest energy efficiency among electric vehicles operating on any road.”
The two-seater Cybercab boasts an aerodynamic design and enclosed wheel hubs. Von Holzhausen explained, “This vehicle is truly unique in terms of its body styling. The rear is actually quite narrow compared to the front, and the aerodynamic design is a crucial factor in achieving higher range with a smaller battery pack.”
Tesla has already commenced setting up production facilities for the Cybercab at its Texas Gigafactory, with prototype vehicles slated to roll out this summer, and a full market launch anticipated in 2026.
