Jeep Overhauls European Lineup: Three Upcoming Vehicles Including a Dongfeng-Joint Large SUV

June 30, 2026 – Jeep has unveiled a four-year product refresh roadmap for its European market, with three brand-new models set to roll out as the brand revamps its regional vehicle lineup, per an early-morning report from Autocar.

The upcoming lineup covers two compact crossover SUVs engineered exclusively for European road conditions, alongside a full-size large SUV co-developed with Chinese automaker Dongfeng Motor. Every one of these three upcoming rides will support multiple powertrain setups and carry all-wheel-drive configurations, set to join the existing Jeep Avenger and Compass to build a refreshed product portfolio and drive notable sales growth across Europe.

Fabio Catone, Jeep’s European division chief, highlighted that all three new vehicles will uphold the marque’s core hallmarks of off-road capability, rugged build quality and versatile utility, with all-wheel drive retained as a core offering for each model.

The pair of all-new B-segment SUVs will sit a tier above the entry-level Avenger in Jeep’s European hierarchy, split into two distinct body sizes: a compact variant and a roomier larger iteration. Catone explained the Avenger caters to buyers originally shopping for traditional B-segment hatchbacks. The smaller B-segment SUV boasts a wider body frame with bolder SUV styling cues, while the second model stretches close to C-segment dimensions and lands in a price bracket slightly below the Jeep Compass. Both crossovers ride on Stellantis’ brand-new STLA One platform and will undergo full manufacturing within European facilities.

Complementing the two Europe-focused small SUVs is a D-segment full-size SUV born from the technical partnership between Jeep and Dongfeng. Manufactured in China and built on Dongfeng’s native vehicle architecture, this large SUV’s exterior styling, market positioning and off-road performance benchmarks will be fully dictated by Jeep’s internal design and engineering teams. Labeled a global joint venture project targeting China, Europe and additional international territories, the vehicle’s complete design language remains under Jeep’s sole control. Catone drew a parallel between this collaboration and Apple’s iPhone development model: Jeep sets rigid brand-aligned design and performance standards, while Dongfeng leverages its mature local manufacturing infrastructure for mass production.

Diverse powertrain options will be offered across the three new models, with plug-in hybrid variants likely integrating Dongfeng’s range-extender powertrain technology.

Industry insiders also signal the Dongfeng M-Hunter line could supply foundational hardware for Jeep’s upcoming European flagship large SUV. The M817, unveiled last year, measures 5.1 meters long with an aggressive rugged aesthetic and standard all-wheel drive. Sold in China with plug-in hybrid and range-extender power units, the model delivers a combined peak output of 900 horsepower.

Catone stressed Jeep currently lacks a competitive contender in Europe’s D-segment large SUV space, a segment critical to sustaining the brand’s worldwide commercial performance. “We aim to fill this gap with a compelling D-segment SUV, and our collaboration with Dongfeng delivers an ideal pathway to make that happen,” the executive stated.
