November 08, 2024 – Tonight marks a significant milestone in the automotive industry as Audi, in collaboration with SAIC, officially unveiled its new luxury electric brand, AUDI. Accompanying this announcement was the debut of the brand’s first concept car, the AUDI E concept.
According to a report by CaiLian Press, Audi’s global CEO, Gernot Dllner, revealed that the production of the first model from the Audi-SAIC smart electric vehicle cooperation project will commence in the coming weeks, with plans to launch it in the market next summer. The partnership aims to introduce three pure electric vehicles, which are outlined in the cooperation framework agreement signed between Audi and SAIC. Currently, both parties have begun discussing the next steps of their collaboration.
Dllner further stated that Audi intends to roll out 20 electrified products globally in the next three years. Most of these will be brought in and locally produced by Audi’s Chinese partner, FAW-Audi. On the other hand, SAIC Audi will focus on utilizing local technology to define new products that cater to the demands of the Chinese market.
The AUDI E concept, which made its debut tonight, is slated to hit the roads as a production vehicle in 2025. In the next three years, the project is set to launch three pure electric models, targeting both the B-segment and C-segment markets. This announcement signals Audi’s commitment to expanding its electric vehicle lineup and strengthening its position in the global automotive market.
