Audi RS3 Mid-Cycle Facelift Sets New Nürburgring Record

June 22, 2024 – Audi released the first official photos of its mid-cycle facelifted RS3 model yesterday, announcing that the vehicle had achieved a lap time of 7 minutes and 33.123 seconds at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in Germany. This new record surpasses the previous compact sedan lap record set by the BMW M2 G87 by 5 seconds.

According to the introduction, the new Audi RS3 is equipped with a five-cylinder 2.5 TFSI engine that delivers 400 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. The estimated combined fuel consumption ranges from 8.9 to 9.6 liters per 100 kilometers.

It’s worth noting that the vehicle that set the lap record was a pre-production model, driven by Frank Stippler. It was equipped with Pirelli P Zero Trofeo R semi-slick tires, carbon-ceramic brakes, and an RS sport suspension.

Audi will announce the official data for the vehicle on August 20th during their official communication.
