iPhone 16 Generation to Usher in Major Design Changes, Including Unique Rear Camera Setup

February 19, 2024 – Reports have been circulating regarding the upcoming design changes for the iPhone 16 generation, with particular emphasis on a revamped rear camera setup. According to various sources, the standard version of the iPhone 16 is set to sport a vertical dual-camera configuration reminiscent of the iPhone X.

Interestingly, the iPhone 16 Pro is also rumored to undergo a rare modification to its camera module. Overseas leaker @MajinBuOfficial has even released a rendered image depicting the new design. The rendering reveals a highly “unique” rear camera arrangement, featuring a triangular layout that is unlike any other design seen in the smartphone industry thus far. It bears some resemblance to the rumored Huawei P70 Art in terms of its unconventional approach. This marks the first time Apple has altered the rear camera design since the iPhone 11 Pro, finally introducing a fresh aesthetic to the lineup.

In addition to the camera changes, the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to increase in size. Specifically, the iPhone 16 Pro is rumored to expand from 6.1 inches to 6.3 inches, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max could grow from 6.7 inches to 6.9 inches.

Furthermore, the iPhone 16 Pro series is anticipated to come equipped with a periscope telephoto lens featuring a quadruple reflective prism. This prism utilizes a folded glass structure behind the lens to reflect light four times, effectively extending the optical path length without increasing the physical space occupied. This innovative design results in a longer focal length and potentially improved zooming capabilities.

Under the hood, the iPhone 16 Pro series is expected to be powered by the new A18 Pro chip. Manufactured using TSMC’s 3nm process technology, this chip promises to push performance boundaries even further, offering unprecedented speed and efficiency.
