Apple Expands iPhone 16 Production to Brazil, Joining China and India

September 19, 2024 – According to a report by tech media MacMagazine, Apple has expanded its iPhone 16 assembly operations to include Brazil, in addition to China and India. The report cites Brazilian regulatory documents revealing that the assembly of these devices is being carried out at a Foxconn factory located in the city of Jundiaí, in the state of São Paulo.

While the factory has previously been involved in the assembly of iPhones, it typically focused on older models. However, the recently disclosed details indicate that this is the first time the factory has been included in the assembly line-up for a new iPhone model.

Currently, the Brazilian factory is primarily assembling the basic version of the iPhone 16, while the higher-end models are still being assembled in China. This shift in Apple’s production strategy suggests a broadening of its global manufacturing footprint in response to market demands and supply chain considerations.
