September 12, 2024 – In a recent internal letter to employees, TSMC Chairman Mark Liu emphasized that the company has evolved beyond being just “Taiwan’s TSMC” to being recognized globally. Liu urged the over 70,000 TSMC employees worldwide to communicate effectively with respect and inclusivity, encouraging them to “speak the truth” within the organization.
In the letter, Liu highlighted the significant operational achievements made by TSMC in the first half of this year, despite last year’s challenges posed by inventory adjustments. The company’s performance has been highly recognized by its clients.
As a global enterprise, TSMC strives to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment, Liu stated. He emphasized the importance of fostering open and empathetic communication to enhance the work experience for all employees.
While acknowledging TSMC’s impressive accomplishments, Liu noted that there is still room for improvement in gaining respect and admiration. He anticipates that as the company’s workforce becomes more diverse, it will adopt a more empathetic, respectful, and inclusive communication style.
The release of Liu’s internal letter coincides with a period of high demand for TSMC’s services, with advanced packaging and 3nm production lines operating at full capacity. According to supply chain sources, despite facing considerable delivery pressure, engineers are actively addressing issues such as design changes and production delays for key clients.
