Apple Introduces Beta Support for Spatial Personas on Vision Pro

April 03, 2024 – Apple has announced that later today, it will begin offering Beta support for Spatial Personas on the Apple Vision Pro, expanding upon the device’s existing Persona functionality.

According to 9to5mac, the feature will be rolled out to all Apple Vision Pro users running visionOS 1.1 or later. Users will be able to access the Spatial Personas option during FaceTime calls, with support for up to five participants.

One of the standout features of the Vision Pro headset, Spatial Personas allows users to display their movements and body language against a transparent background. This enables them to move around, interact, collaborate, and make eye contact with other Vision Pro users for a more realistic and immersive experience.

While the Spatial Personas feature was first unveiled at WWDC 2023 last year, Apple has chosen to release the Beta version just ahead of WWDC 2024.

The company has stated that its team is actively working on optimizing the feature, and future updates to visionOS will bring even more realism to Spatial Personas.
