May 06, 2023 – E-commerce giant Amazon is reportedly investing in the development of AI tools aimed at generating photos and videos for its platform’s advertising campaigns. According to an Amazon spokesperson, the company is excited about the potential benefits for customers and advertisers that could result from its investment in generative AI.
Amazon’s advertising business has been experiencing double-digit growth every quarter since it started reporting its advertising revenue in 2021, bringing in $38 billion in revenue for the company last year. While the focus of Amazon’s advertising business has been on providing support to sellers in search results, the company is now seeking to expand its advertising offerings, including selling ad space on its free streaming service Freevee and during Thursday night football broadcasts on Prime Video.
