May 22, 2024 – The Microsoft Build 2024 developer conference kicked off in Seattle, USA, with a special appearance by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.
When queried about what to anticipate most, Altman emphasized the pivotal role played by millions of developers in driving significant global changes over the past year. He highlighted the rapid and meaningful application of technology, particularly noting the transition from GPT-4 to GPT-4o.
“I have never witnessed a technology being adopted so swiftly and in such a significant way,” Altman stated. “It’s fascinating to see what people are building, how they are discovering new uses, and accomplishing things we never imagined. This is why having an API is always valuable.”
Regarding what to expect in the future, Altman revealed, “The key point is that the models will continue to grow smarter. From GPT 3 to GPT-3.5, and now GPT-4.0, the intelligence level has escalated. This enhanced intelligence enables a wider range of applications, boosts its power, and enhances security. We have invested heavily in developing safety tools around it, making it even more useful.”
