Football-Playing Humanoid Robot Helps Accelerated Evolution Net Major Investment

September 12, 2024 – Humanoid robot company “Accelerated Evolution” has recently completed a 100 million yuan Pre-A series funding round. The investment was jointly made by PeerTimes, Minsheng Bank International, Zhongguancun Science City, and iCANX Fund, with follow-on investment from existing investor InnoAngel. The funds will primarily be used for developing a universal robot body and enhancing software development capabilities.

Cheng Hao, the founder and CEO of Accelerated Evolution, holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Tsinghua University. He has nearly a decade of experience in large-scale product development at a leading internet company and was a senior executive at ByteDance. The chief scientist of the company, Zhao Guoming, is a researcher at the Department of Automation, Tsinghua University, and directs the Brain-Like Robot Center and Unmanned Systems Center. He has dedicated the past 20 years to the research of bipedal biomimetic and brain-like robots and systems.

It is reported that Accelerated Evolution has unveiled the Booster T1 bipedal humanoid robot, which stands 1.1 meters tall, weighs 29 kilograms, and can perform actions such as kicking a ball, doing push-ups, and squatting in the style of Ip Man. The robot made its debut at the 2024 World Robot Conference.

In terms of commercialization, Accelerated Evolution has already received orders for humanoid robots and plans to produce and deliver them in small batches within the year. Meanwhile, the company has initiated a new round of funding to further facilitate the implementation of its technology and products.
