Apple Continues Leadership Shuffle with New Global Retail Director Role

March 28, 2025 – Apple Inc. is undergoing a series of leadership restructuring initiatives, with a newly created role of “Global Retail Director,” according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman.

The tech giant has promoted Vanessa Trigub to the position of “Vice President of Retail Stores and Operations.” Trigub, who previously oversaw retail operations and store management in the Western Americas, will now supervise retail directors across Europe, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Eastern Americas. This reshuffle simplifies the retail division’s hierarchy and bestows upon Trigub an expanded portfolio of responsibilities. Trigub’s journey at Apple began as an intern during the launch of the original iPhone, and she has since held roles in finance, mergers and acquisitions, and retail operations within the company.

The ultimate authority over Apple’s retail operations remains with Senior Executive Deirdre O’Brien. With this adjustment, O’Brien will have fewer direct reports as she continues to reshape the human resources organizational structure. Internal sources within Apple’s retail team speculate that Trigub is being groomed as O’Brien’s successor, who has been with the company for over three decades.

Apple has yet to officially announce these management changes. Notably, this marks the second significant leadership reshuffle at Apple recently, following last week’s move to transfer Siri’s oversight from Artificial Intelligence Chief John Giannandrea to Mike Rockwell, head of the Vision Pro project.
