September 10, 2024 – Oracle and Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a strategic partnership on September 9th, unveiling their collaborative effort to launch Oracle Database@AWS, a new cloud service offering.
This innovative product enables customers to access Oracle Exadata database services and Oracle’s Autonomous Database, which can automatically perform certain routine management tasks, on dedicated infrastructure via the AWS platform. The integration aims to streamline the migration and deployment of enterprise workloads to the cloud while enhancing agility, flexibility, and security.

Furthermore, Oracle Database@AWS allows users to seamlessly connect enterprise data stored in Oracle databases to a wide range of advanced AI/ML applications running on AWS cloud services.
Larry Ellison, Chairman and CTO of Oracle, commented on the partnership, stating, “We see a significant demand from customers who want to embrace a multi-cloud strategy. To meet this demand and provide customers with the choice and flexibility they need, Amazon and Oracle are seamlessly connecting AWS services with Oracle’s latest database technologies, including the Autonomous Database.”
By deploying Oracle’s cloud infrastructure within AWS data centers, the companies aim to deliver optimal database and network performance to their customers.
For Oracle, this partnership with AWS represents an opportunity to enhance the accessibility and usage of its database services. On the other hand, AWS will be able to offer a more comprehensive portfolio of cloud service products to its enterprise customers in the future.
The Oracle Database@AWS cloud service product is scheduled to go live in December 2024.
