The End of an Era: OnePlus Clears North American Shelves Amid OPPO’s Global Restructuring

August 5, 2026 – OnePlus has officially concluded its retail operations in North America, as its official online stores in the United States and Canada have sold out of all smartphone inventory. This complete depletion of stock marks the definitive end of the brand’s official sales channels in the region, following its July 16 announcement to withdraw from the North American and European markets.

The digital storefronts reflect a rapid clearance of assets. In the U.S., flagship models like the OnePlus 15 and 15R are entirely out of stock across all configurations, while tablets and smartwatches have been completely delisted, leaving only a handful of earbuds and accessories. The situation is even more severe in Canada, where even the OnePlus Buds series has sold out. Meanwhile, the Mexican storefront has entirely removed its purchase functionality. For consumers still seeking the brand in North America, only scattered, final-stock units remain on third-party platforms like Amazon, with no future restocks planned.

This strategic retreat is a direct result of a major corporate restructuring by parent company OPPO. In a sweeping realignment of its global product strategy, OPPO has redefined the roles of its sub-brands to eliminate market overlap and consolidate resources. Moving forward, realme will focus exclusively on international markets, halting all new product updates in China. Conversely, OnePlus will pivot its primary focus to the domestic Chinese market while maintaining its existing product cadence in India. As part of this synergy, OnePlus will also pause new releases in Europe and North America. Furthermore, the three brands will undergo software integration, allowing eligible global devices from both OnePlus and realme to independently upgrade to OPPO’s latest ColorOS operating system.

Looking ahead, OnePlus’s next flagship, the anticipated OnePlus 16, is slated for an October release but will be exclusively available in China and India. It will not be launched in the U.S. or Canada. Industry experts warn that overseas enthusiasts hoping to import future OnePlus devices may face significant hurdles, as North American carriers enforce strict device whitelists, potentially resulting in severe network compatibility issues.
